Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN)

TOPIC A: ECONOMIC WARFARE
TOPIC B: DEBT RELIEF

There’s a saying that money makes the world go round; however, that's not entirely true. Money and governments working together make the world go round. The Economic and Financial Committee (ECOFIN) focuses on global economic and financial issues. ECOFIN addresses matters related to international trade, sustainable development, global poverty, financial regulation, and economic cooperation among nations.

The main focus is international trade, where it works to promote fair trade practices, reduce barriers, and ensure that global commerce benefits all nations, particularly developing economies. With global tensions ever-increasing and warfare moving from militaristic to economic, different nations’ decision-making on financial issues can be the difference between them rising to great power or falling into obscurity.
